MORE ABOUT HOW WE CAN WORK TOGETHER

Frequently Asked
Questions

  • Great Question! For each person this is unique but generally, I’ll start by checking in with you to see if there is anything you need before we dive in.

Next, we’ll review the goals of the session and review the initial paperwork you will have completed.

After that, I’ll ask you lots of questions so that I can really understand your needs and objectives. For example, if you’re here for CBT-I, I’ll ask you lots of questions about your sleep. Some of the questions include: what time do you get into bed, how long does it take you to fall asleep, how long you are awake in the night, do you take naps, what medications are you currently taking, etc. You don’t have to have perfect answers here, I know it can vary a lot from night to night.

I’ll also ask about other sleep concerns you may have such as nightmares, restlessness, sleep-walking and so on.

Remember, there’s no judgment here. The goal is for me to understand so we can develop an effective plan together.

  • Online therapy provides the same personalized care and attention as traditional in-person sessions, but with the added convenience and flexibility of being accessible from the comfort of your own home or any private space.

    Here's how it works:

    1. Scheduling: When you reach out to schedule a free consultation, you will receive a confidential link to the telehealth session.

    2. Technology: You will need a secure internet connection and a computer, laptop, phone, or other device that connects to the internet to attend the meeting.

    3. Session format: We will meet 1:1. Each session typically lasts for about 50 minutes, similar to a traditional therapy session.

    4. Location: You can join the meeting from anywhere within Pennsylvania or New Jersey. It can help to join from a comfortable space that has adequate privacy.

    5. Privacy and security: Privacy is paramount in online therapy. All sessions are encrypted and compliant with HIPAA regulations, ensuring that your personal information and discussions remain confidential.

Online therapy offers a flexible, secure, and effective way to receive support, regardless of your location within Pennsylvania or New Jersey.

  • I am not in network with any insurance companies.

However, I can accept Flexible Spending Account (FSA) cards, or Health Savings Account (HSA) cards, as well as any other major credit or debit card.

If you have out-of-network benefits with your insurance plan, I am happy to provide you with a superbill (which is a specific type of receipt) for you to submit to your insurance company for possible or partial reimbursement.

If you’re interested in using out-of-network benefits, I recommend calling the customer service number on the back of your insurance card and speaking to a representative for details about your specific out-of-network benefits.

Please keep in mind, there are many reasons an insurance company may not reimburse for sessions that you have paid out of pocket.

If you need affordable support, feel free to reach out as I’m always happy to provide referrals and other resources.

    Employee Assistance Program (EAP):
If you have a benefit called Spring Health, your sessions may be covered. You can check with your HR team to see if you have this benefit. We can also discuss any questions you may have in your free consultation.

  • In-person sessions are not offered at this time.

  • CBT-I can be completed in 6-8 weeks. If your only goal is to sleep well, we can stop after the 6-8 sessions. Some clients would like to continue to work on stress, mood and other life concerns. In this case, the length depends on your situation, needs, and goals.

I will do my best to give you an honest estimate of the length of treatment once we've completed the initial assessment. Keep in mind, you can opt out of therapy at any time for any reason and you don’t have to commit to more than one session at a time.

  • When we start to work together, you will receive a Good Faith Wstimate (GFE) of the cost of therapy. This prevents any surprise bills. Under Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act, you have the right to receive a GFE explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services. You have the right to receive a GFE for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. You can ask your healthcare provider, and any other provider you choose, for a GFE before you schedule a service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your GFE, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your GFE.
